Without your God-given purpose, life's journey becomes, "force applied, no distance covered and therefore, no work done" (Pastor Chris Oyakhilome). It's impossible to become truly successful when you have not discovered your God-given purpose. There are many books, seminars, conferences, lectures, you name it, written on success, yet only one source contains the key principles of how to become successful. But yet still many fail to read it, though they desire to become successful. One thing I've discovered in my personal life is that, without your God-given purpose, one can become successful in the wrong thing. And this usually, occur 80% of the time leading those individuals in a downward spiral of destruction. Then there's the 10% who manages somehow to escape and made a reverse in life, went back to the very beginning and then begin their life journey all over again. Which leaves only 10% who found this revelation from the beginning, hence they manifest success from the start. Let me just remind you that success is not based on what others are doing, but what you came to this earth to do. Your own assignment that you must contribute to this earth before you die.  Still it doesn't take much to become successful. For all that is required is revelation, commitment, dedication and drive. In other words for example, you can become successful in becoming an alcoholic, a thief, beggar, gambler, or you can use that same time and energy to study and become a lawyer, nurse, doctor etc. Anything that you grasp you can achieve results. But what if that thing you are all sold out to is not what was designed for you? What if you went to school, spent almost half of your lifetime studying the wrong field? What if you then later discovered in your time of retirement that what you did or became is never what God had meant for you to do? Or worst yet, what if you find yourself on death row, ready to be executed and that's when the revelation of your life's purpose is known? You see, there are many people who find themselves in these position when it is too late. When all the lights are shut off, the music stops, and the audience's have gone. This is when they wake up to realize that their chance at success is over. No more time left to dance. This is when the curtains are drawn signalling the end of the show. Now, there's nothing more to look forward to, other than the grave. My spiritual mentor Dr. Myles Munroe said, "the graveyard is the richest place on earth. For there you will find the books that were never written, the songs that were never song, the music that was never played, the cure for diseases that was never discovered, the intervention that never came to be." You have to understand that purpose is very important to God. So important that He advice us in Proverbs 19:21, "Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails." What He intended or what He has in mind is for us to live successfully and completely, not lacking in anything. Proverbs 14:12 also tells us, "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death." I believe that God created all things for a purpose and that nothing was created that didn't have a purpose.

Therefore, the most important pursuit in life is not money, sex, material possession, or even education. King Solomon cautioned us not to pursue these things and define them as vanity. So I would say that the most important pursuit should be God's purpose for your life. For with the discovery of purpose, wealth finds you and thus you become successful.
