Intercessors takes the place of others and pleads their case. It is a time of believing and persevering in prayer, whereby you are presenting your righteousness before God on behalf of others or who desperately need God's intervention. Today, as believers we are called into the ministry of intercessory prayer as it is our calling as priests unto God. The Word of God declares that we are a holy priesthood (1 Peter 2:4), a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9), and a kingdom of priests (Revelation 1:5).  Back in the Old Testament for example, the Levitical priest's responsibility was to stand between God and the people. Every year he would go before God to minister to Him with sacrifices and offerings on the behalf of the people. The priests stood between a righteous God and sinful man bringing them together at the place of the blood sacrifice.Today, we don't have to worry about blood sacrifices, praise God, but we have a responsibility to present ourselves to God praying for others.
